Volunteer Opportunities

Family Open House
Volunteers are needed to provide food and set up for the Open House. The chairpersons of this committee are responsible for coordinating the refreshments with all the volunteers. We need at least two chairpersons and at least 20 volunteers to bring food and supplies for this event. This event occurs the third Thursday in October.

Fellowship Mission Committee
Volunteer parents for each class coordinate events, including the Thanksgiving Food Drive and the Christmas Gift Drive. Volunteers also have the opportunity to donate their time at the Fellowship Mission Preschool, working with the staff and children. These projects occur throughout the school year.

Volunteers are needed to help plan and coordinate small or large efforts to raise additional funds for the CDC. This effort occurs as needed.

Grounds Committee
Volunteers will assist with handyman jobs around the school throughout the school year and help to organize additional volunteers for Fall Work Day and Spring Work Day.

Mardi Gras Pancake Breakfast
Volunteers help cook and serve the pancake breakfast in the Fellowship Hall. This event occurs on Fat Tuesday each year.

Preschool Auction
This is the preschool’s one and only fundraiser for the year. CDC parents are invited to attend the event. Any parent interested in donating or sponsoring the event either personally or through their business can contact the Haygood Preschool director. The auction occurs in March.

Pumpkin Patch
Volunteers are needed to help with unloading of pumpkins when delivered and to take shifts to sell pumpkins throughout the month of October.

Room Parent
Room parents are important assets to the teachers, helping with activities throughout the year. The room parent helps the teacher coordinate other parent volunteers for the parties throughout the year. Room parents may also assist in contacting class parents regarding the many other activities at Haygood. This volunteer opportunity is ongoing throughout the year.

Teacher Appreciation
Volunteers are always needed to help recognize teacher birthdays, anniversaries, the teacher holiday luncheon and bonuses. This new committee gives parents an opportunity to become involved. This volunteer opportunity is ongoing throughout the year.
